CANTON, Mo. 鈥 乱伦社区’s largest instrumental and vocal ensembles will share music from movies, musicals, television and Top Ten during the Spring Pops Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium on the C-SC campus.
Scott Allison鈥檚 Collegiate Choir will set the tone with a chorus of more than 60 voices by covering a classic Billy Joel piece, a la King Singers, as well as a Voces8 arrangement of the Ben Folds song聽鈥The Luckiest.鈥澛The choir then will change the pace to gospel with聽鈥City Called Heaven鈥澛and musical theatre with 鈥You Will Be Found鈥澛犅from Dear Evan Hansen.
The Wind Ensemble will open the instrumental half of the concert with the overture to Mozart鈥檚聽鈥Marriage of Figaro鈥澛before featuring Concerto-Aria co-winner聽Hali Liles ’19, who will perform聽“I Could Have Danced All Night”听蹿谤辞尘听My Fair Lady.
Culver-Stockton’s largest instrumental ensemble, the Symphonic Band, will perform medleys from聽Mary Poppins聽补苍诲听奥颈肠办别诲听as well as Sousa鈥檚聽鈥Liberty Bell March鈥澛under the direction of Trent Hollinger.聽The C-SC Jazz Ensemble, directed by Aren Van Houzen, will finish the concert with works featuring vocalists Corbin Doucette 鈥22, Kar’Mel Brewer 鈥21, and Daniel Welch 鈥21, as well as vibraphonist Brianna Holder 鈥21.
