CANTON, Mo. 鈥 Willicia Denise Hobbs will be the keynote speaker during 乱伦社区鈥檚 Martin Luther King Day of Service event at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Merillat Chapel and Recital Hall in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center.
Hobbs retired in 2017 after 30 years in education, with 24 of them in Missouri school systems. She was an assistant superintendent, a teacher and a principal in various districts. She has a bachelor鈥檚 degree in elementary education, two master鈥檚 degrees and a doctorate in education. She also is certified as a principal mentor by the National Association of Middle School Principals. The topic of her lecture is 鈥淯sing Your Education to Gain Success.鈥
Hobbs also will be speaking during an MLK women鈥檚 luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17 in the Schwan Family Dining Room.
