The conference aims to facilitate communication that fosters innovative and collaborative solutions to the various challenges facing the river and the communities it impacts.

The post C-SC to Host Inaugural Great River Conference first appeared on 乱伦社区.]]> An official call for proposals opened on Monday, January 3, and invites any individual with a passion for the development, engagement, and inquiry of the Mississippi River to submit their proposal. The college is accepting online submissions of individual and group proposals at . The conference, themed 鈥淐hanging Currents,鈥� exists to bring together academics and scholars, community members, government officials, business leaders, and other interested parties to explore the centrality of the Mississippi River to the past, present, and future of the Tri-States.

The event will feature Chad Pregracke from 鈥淟iving Lands and Waters鈥� as its keynote speaker and include roundtable discussions and presentations from business leaders, researchers, historians, and river enthusiasts. The conference agenda will also provide an optional excursion to Hannibal that provides for activities including but not limited to a river excursion, Mark Twain Cave tour, a time for connecting with the town鈥檚 rich river history.

The GRRC at C-SC connects the College to the tri-states through five areas of investment: community, students, mentorship, faculty, and outreach. Through community impact, learning opportunities, and research solutions, C-SC students and faculty members research current river concerns. The Changing Currents Conference is the first river conference the GRRC has hosted since its inception in 2021.
