Faculty, staff and students can view the gallery in person if they wear masks and are properly socially distanced. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday and by appointment. C-SC is beginning the fall semester in Phase 1 of its Return to Campus plan, during which visitors are not allowed on campus. However, the gallery can be viewed online at  after Sept. 3.

Dunnagan, an assistant professor of art in painting at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., investigates the permeable line between this world and what may lie beyond in her gallery. It is rooted in her experiences with her grandmother, who battled Alzheimer’s for the last 10 years of her life. Dunnagan experiments in much of this work with natural dyes by boiling vegetation such as raspberries and cabbage, a technique she learned while serving in Morocco as a small business development volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps from 2007 to 2009.

Dunnagan is a three-time finalist for the Hunting Art Prize, awarded annually to a Texas artist for excellence in drawing and painting. Her work has been shown nationally in solo and juried exhibitions and was published in the 120 West edition of New American Paintings.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Dunnagan’s creative pursuits are grounded in her Alaskan upbringing. She spent summers hiking mountains, biking the coastal trail, fishing the Russian River and camping at bluegrass festivals.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental design in architecture from Texas A&M in 2007, a master of fine arts degree in painting and drawing from Texas Woman’s University in 2014, and a master of arts degree in art history from Texas Woman’s University in 2015.
