Bank of Monticello Presents Donation to Student Scholarship Fund

C-SC Provost Dr. Lauren Schellenberger accepted the gift on behalf of the College, presented to her by Chad Porter, President and CEO of the bank. Dr. Schellenberger shared, “We are grateful for the support of the Bank of Monticello and all community partners. This gift directly impacts our students by easing the financial challenge of a college education, and it shows them that the community believes in them and is investing in them.” The provost noted that more than 90% of C-SC students utilize financial aid and scholarships to fund their education at the college.

�� announces third annual dining day during 24 Hours of Giving

The 24-hour giving campaign, housed primarily on social media, aims to raise $170,000 this year for the Student Scholarship Fund (SSF), which includes a generous $50,000 match from an anonymous donor. Monies will be raised through donor gifts and dining events leading to the 24-hour giving campaign. The College has partnered with alumni business owners for the third year in a row to raise awareness about the importance of the SSF. Patrons who dine on Thursday, March 16, at Primo’s in Canton, Missouri, LaBinnah Bistro in Hannibal, Missouri, and Tiramisu in Quincy, Illinois, will benefit C-SC students as a portion of sales made that day will be donated to the Student Scholarship Fund.

New this year, customers who purchase a drink from Electric Fountain Brewing Coffee Bar in Quincy or Hebrews XI Coffee (Taylor or Palmyra, Missouri) during March 13-17 will receive a special sticker on their cups. When scanned, they will be invited to make a gift to the Student Scholarship Fund and enter into a drawing for prizes, including gift cards, coffee, and C-SC promotional items.

Over 90% of students at �� receive a student scholarship to offset their tuition, and the college is setting aside 24 hours to raise monies for the student scholarship funds. “We are inviting people to connect during dining and on social media, tell their story, and invest in the next generation of Wildcats,” said Adam Duesterhaus, Vice President for Advancement.

C-SC hosts Dining Day to benefit Student Scholarship Fund

�� alumni business owners have partnered with the College for the second year in a row to raise awareness among �� alumni and the local community about the importance of the Student Scholarship Fund during this annual fundraising event. A portion of proceeds from orders placed for take-out or dine-in during lunch and dinner on March 17th will be donated to the Student Scholarship Fund at ��. The Student Scholarship Fund provides direct financial support to more than 90% of C-SC students who depend on scholarships to help pay for their education. C-SC President Dr. Douglas B. Palmer invites the community to participate in the dining day on March 17th and shared, “This event, part of our 24 Hours of Giving, allows community members to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant while gathering together to provide scholarship support to Culver-Stockton students. We are grateful for the generosity of these alumni-owned restaurant partners who are providing a portion of the proceeds to C-SC and for the Wildcat supporters who will join us for a meal on March 17th.”

Primo’s in Canton, owned by alumni couple Jarrod ’00 and Brenna Leonard ’02 Phillips, and Tiramisu in Quincy, co-owned by Roberto Stellino and alumnus Ilija Cucuk ’03, will be open for lunch and dinner. Hannibal’s LaBinnah Bistro, owned by alumnus Arif Dagin ’10, will be available for dinner. This dining day event offers alumni and community members a unique opportunity to get involved, enjoy a meal together, and support students. Primo’s owner Jarrod Phillips will be participating for the second year in a row and shared, “We are proud to partner with Culver-Stockton to help provide students the same opportunity that Brenna and I were fortunate enough to have.” He added, “Any amount of help we can provide to the College and its students allows us to pay back a tiny bit of what we received during our time on “the Hill.”

The dining day event is one of many activities planned during the 2022 annual giving campaign, which runs from noon on Thursday, March 17th through Friday, March 18, 2022. The 24 WILD Hours of Giving will be housed primarily online through social media and the College’s giving platform, offering audiences an opportunity to understand better the impact the Student Scholarship Fund has on students at ��.
