It also will include live statistics. Culver-Stockton, which is coordinating the broadcast, expects to use more than 5,000 feet of camera lines (up from 2,000 last year) and is adding five cameras. Adams Fiber installed an fiber-optic cable in South Park last year and added another near the start/finish line this year to improve the broadcast quality.

The Grand Prix can be seen online on WGEM at聽聽or on Facebook Live at聽.

Championship races begin at noon.

The original Grand Prix, created by Quincy promoter Gus Traeder, started in 1970 and ran for 32 years, first on the streets of downtown Quincy and then moving to the 1.3-mile course in South Park. Traeder鈥檚 son, Terry, now promotes the two-day event, which had 302 entries and attracted an estimated 16,000 fans last year.

Culver-Stockton students and alumni are encouraged to visit the track in South Park for its Tri-State Area Send-Off. Food and refreshments will be served under a blue-and-white pop-up tent at the south end of the park near the concession stands. Admission is free.
